January / February 2020 internships in Singapore office - Students from universities outside Singapore
These are open to law students from any university outside Singapore, although the timing of the slot is calculated to suit those from universities in Australasia. All internships are three weeks in duration and there are two placements available for each window.

We will be accepting applications for the January / February 2020 placements from 1 November 2019 onwards. Successful applicants will be informed no later than early December 2019.
Relevant Legal Training Trainee
Norton Rose Fulbright Ascendant is happy to announce that positions will be offered for Relevant Legal Training commencing from March 2020. For this role, we are flexible on the commencement date and are open to further discussion.
Our Relevant Legal Trainees will be exposed to a broad range of practice areas including international arbitration, investigations, regulatory compliance, banking, corporate M&A and capital markets to allow for a holistic learning experience.
With the establishment of a Formal Law Alliance with Ascendant Legal LLC, Relevant Legal Trainees will also have the opportunity to apply for a Practice Training Contract with Ascendant Legal LLC to commence following the completion of the Part A and B Bar Examinations.

2020 mid-year internships
2020 mid-year internships in Singapore office - Students from Singapore universities
These are open to law students from Singapore universities who have completed their first year of study. There are 4 placements available, each for 2 weeks. In the year 2020, the dates are as follows:-
- 11 May to 22 May 2020
- 25 May to 5 June 2020
2020 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office- Students from Singapore Management University
This placement is open to law undergraduates from Singapore Management University (SMU) who have completed their second year of study and who have yet to complete their mandatory full-time internship attachments. There are 4 placements available for 5 weeks each. For the year 2020, the dates are as follows:
- 27 April to 29 May 2020
- 1 June to 3 July 2020
2020 mid-year placements in Singapore office - Students from universities outside of Singapore
These are open to law students from universities outside of Singapore who have completed their first year of study. There are 8 placements available, each for 3 weeks. For the year 2020, the dates are as follows:
- 8 June to 26 June 2020
- 29 June to 17 July 2020
- 20 July to 7 August 2020
- 11 August to 28 August 2020
We will be accepting applications for all mid-year internships throughout the month of February 2020. Successful applicants will be informed by mid-March 2020.

Applications should include a full academic history and details of work experience, if any. National Service and volunteer work etc would count as work experience.
For the above internship programmes, successful applicants will gain first-hand knowledge of how we work. They will be given the opportunity to assist in any current legal matters we are working on. They will also be able to meet up with trainees on secondment from our London, Australia and Hong Kong offices.
Interns will be responsible for their own accommodation and travel arrangements. They will be provided with an allowance of S$60 per working day for daily transport and meals except for "2020 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office - Students from Singapore Management University" where interns will be paid an allowance of S$800 for the 5 weeks.
All offers are conditional upon the student obtaining the necessary immigration clearances in accordance with the Ministry of Manpower’s current regulations. For foreign students from overseas universities, they are required to apply for the Work Holiday Programme which is applicable to university undergraduates and graduates aged 18 to 25.
