Beyond the day-to-day

Your everyday work isn’t the only way you’ll progress with us. There are many ways you can build your skills and your network inside and outside the office, by getting involved in our culture.

Here are just a few of the things you could do:

Join an employee network

We have a number of employee networks you can join, focusing on everything from LGBT to ethnicity and faith. They’re open to anyone, and provide opportunities for you to meet and share experiences with people across the firm. Many of our networks have trainees on their steering committees, so there will be chances for you to play an even more active role in driving positive change. Learn more about our employee networks.

Take part in corporate responsibility initiatives

There will always be opportunities here for you to do something challenging to raise money for a great cause. Past challenges have included canoeing in Canada, cycling across Texas, and sailing across oceans – all for charity.

Get involved in sports and social clubs

You’ll come across a huge number of sports and social clubs in our London office. You’re welcome to join any of them, whatever your ability or previous experience, and almost all are free. Here is a taste of what is on offer:

  • Athletics
    Our athletics club organises occasional City runs.
  • Badminton
    Our badminton club meets once a month at a badminton centre in Wapping.
  • Choir
    Our award-winning choir are always looking for new singers, whatever your experience.
  • Clay pigeon shooting
    We take part in an annual clay-pigeon shooting event attended by major law firms.
  • Cricket
    We have a cricket team that plays throughout the summer - our home ground is Blackheath Cricket Club.
  • Football
    We currently play in the second division of the London Legal League.
  • Football 5-a-side
    Our 5-a-side football team competes on Thursday evenings.
  • Golf
    The golf club welcomes golfers of any standard and enters teams into various corporate events.
  • Hockey
    The mixed hockey club play friendly games once or twice a month.
  • Netball
    The women’s netball team currently plays in division one of the London Inter-Company Netball League.
  • Tennis
    We have a mixed doubles tennis tournament in July or August each year.
  • Riding and polo
    The riding club organises subsidised tuition across all equestrian disciplines, including hacking, jumping and polo.
  • Softball
    We are an inaugural member of the softball legal league, formed five seasons ago.
  • Yoga
    An experienced yoga teacher holds classes in our auditorium every Wednesday evening.
