Mid-year internships

 

2017 mid-year internships in Singapore office - Students from Singapore universities

These are open to law students from Singapore universities who have completed their first year of study. There are two placements available, each for 2 weeks. In the year 2017, the dates are as follows:

  • 8 May to 19 May 2017
  • 22 May to 2 June 2017

2017 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office- Students from Singapore Management University

This placement is open to law undergraduates from Singapore Management University (SMU) who have completed their second year of study and who have yet to complete their mandatory full-time internship attachments. There are 2 placements available for 5 weeks each. For the year 2017, the dates are as follows:

  • 24 April to 26 May 2017
  • 15 May to 16 June 2017

2017 mid-year placements in Singapore office- Students from universities outside of Singapore

These are open to law students from universities outside of Singapore who have completed their first year of study. There are four placements available, each for 3 weeks. For the year 2017, the dates are as follows:

  • 29 May to 16 June 2017
  • 19 June to 7 July 2017
  • 10 July to 28 July 2017
  • 31 July to 18 August 2017

We will be accepting applications for all mid-year internships throughout the month of February 2017. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of March 2017.
 

2017 Business development and marketing – 3 months internship

These internships are open to students who are yet to commence their university studies (as well as university students who are able to commit to any of the following periods) with an interest in business development and marketing. Candidates should possess exceptional spoken and written skills in English; a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good relationships at all levels; self-starter with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage his/her workload effectively; and a positive attitude. There are four placements available, each for approximately a 3 month duration. The following internship dates are available.

  • 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017
  • 1 July 2017 to 30 September 2017
  • 1 October to 31 December 2017

The intern will be paid an allowance of $500 per month. We are currently accepting applications for the above internship periods. Successful applicants will be informed accordingly.

Please send your application via Norton Rose Fulbright Job Portal by the deadlines.

Under "Role", please choose "Internship/Vacation/Seasonal/Stagiare"and "Job location" is "Singapore."

Applications should include a full academic history and details of work experience, if any. National Service and volunteer work etc would count as work experience.

Note:

For the above internship programmes, successful applicants will gain first-hand knowledge of how we work. They will be given the opportunity to assist in any current legal matters we are working on. They will also be able to meet up with trainees on secondment from our London, Australia and Hong Kong offices.

Interns will be responsible for their own accommodation and travel arrangements. They will be provided with an allowance of S$60 per working day for daily transport and meals except for "2017 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office - Students from Singapore Management University" where interns will be paid an allowance of S$800 for the 5 weeks.

All offers are conditional upon the student obtaining the necessary immigration clearances in accordance with the Ministry of Manpower’s current regulations. For foreign students from overseas universities, they are required to apply for the Work Holiday Programme which is applicable to university undergraduates and graduates aged 18 to 25. Norton Rose Fulbright (Asia) LLP may assist with this process, but the responsibility to obtain the necessary permits lies with the student.
