2017 Internships

Year-end internships

 

2017 year-end internships in Singapore office - Students from Singapore universities

These are open to law students from Singapore universities who have completed their first year of study. There are two placements available, each for 2 weeks. In the year 2017, the dates are as follows:

  • 11 December to 22 December 2017
  • 26 December 2017 to 5 January 2018

We will be accepting applications for 2017 year-end internships throughout the month of September 2017. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of October 2017.
 

Temasek Polytechnic Paralegal Internship - 11 September to 1 December 2017

The Intern will sit in the Dispute Resolution Department. He/She will directly assist with Dispute Resolution matters most of which will be International Arbitration. It is contemplated that their duties will include involvement in (a) legal research, (b) drafting of pleadings, basic legal correspondence and (c) collection of evidence and preparation of affidavits.

We will be accepting applications for the above internship throughout the month of June 2017. Successful applicants will be informed by the first week of July 2017.
 

2018 Internships

January / February 2018 internships in Singapore office - Students from universities outside Singapore

These are open to law students from any university outside Singapore, although the timing of the slot is calculated to suit those from universities in Australasia. There are two placements available, each for 3 weeks. The dates for these placements are as follows:

  • 2 January to 19 January 2018
  • 22 January to 9 February 2018

We will be accepting applications for the January / February 2018 placements throughout the month of October 2017. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of November 2017.
 

2017/18 Business development and marketing – 3 months internship

These internships are open to students who are yet to commence their university studies (as well as university students who are able to commit to any of the following periods) with an interest in business development and marketing. Candidates should possess exceptional spoken and written skills in English; a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good relationships at all levels; self-starter with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage his/her workload effectively; and a positive attitude.  There are four placements available, each for approximately a 3 month duration. The following internship dates are available. 

  • 1 August 2017 to 30 November 2017
  • 1 December 2017 to 28 February 2018

The intern will be paid an allowance of $500 per month. We are currently accepting applications for the above internship periods. Successful applicants will be informed accordingly.

Under "Role", please choose "Internship/Vacation/Seasonal/Stagiare"and "Job location" is "Singapore."

Applications should include a full academic history and details of work experience, if any. National Service and volunteer work etc would count as work experience.

Note:

For the above internship programmes, successful applicants will gain first-hand knowledge of how we work. They will be given the opportunity to assist in any current legal matters we are working on. They will also be able to meet up with trainees on secondment from our London, Australia and Hong Kong offices.

Interns will be responsible for their own accommodation and travel arrangements. They will be provided with an allowance of S$60 per working day for daily transport and meals except for "2017 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office - Students from Singapore Management University" where interns will be paid an allowance of S$800 for the 5 weeks.

All offers are conditional upon the student obtaining the necessary immigration clearances in accordance with the Ministry of Manpower’s current regulations. For foreign students from overseas universities, they are required to apply for the Work Holiday Programme which is applicable to university undergraduates and graduates aged 18 to 25. Norton Rose Fulbright (Asia) LLP may assist with this process, but the responsibility to obtain the necessary permits lies with the student.
